Big Mac Salad

Ingredients

Salad

  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pickles
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds

Big Mac Dressing

  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce optional but encouraged
  • 2 tsp white vinegar

Instructions

  • Add beef to a large skillet on medium-high heat
  • Add spices and Worcestershire sauce; cook until no longer pink (around 6 minutes)
  • Wash, dry, and chop lettuce
  • Shred cheese
  • Dice pickles and onion
  • Add salad dressing ingredients to a bowl and whisk until incorporated
  • Assemble salads with beef, cheese, pickles, onion and dressing

Notes

If you're making these bowls ahead of time for lunches, make sure to use the following method for layering: start by adding the sauce to each container, followed by the ground beef, cheese, pickles, onion and finish by adding lettuce on top. Don't shake it until you're ready to eat. This keeps the lettuce crisp and fresh.
