Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs (all-beef work great; a slightly larger size is easier to stand up)
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • Ketchup and mustard, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the crescent dough, pinch the seams closed, and cut each rectangle into 3 squares.
  • Cut each hot dog into 3 pieces, cutting straight across so the pieces stand up without falling over.
  • Stand the hot dog pieces upright on the lined baking sheet.
  • Drape a square of crescent dough over each hot dog so it hangs down like a ghost.
  • Use a straw to poke two eyes and a mouth into the dough on each ghost.
  • Bake for about 12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ketchup and mustard for dipping.

Notes

  • Cut the hot dogs as straight as possible so they stand upright and do not topple while baking. Slightly larger hot dogs are easier to work with.
  • This is such a fun, low-stress activity to do with kids.
  • Serve with ketchup, mustard, or any dip you love.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
