Add onions and sauté on medium-low heat for 45 minutes, stirring often
Once onions are caramelized, remove and place on a cutting board to cool
Finely dice chives
In a medium bowl, combine onions with yogurt, mayo, chives, vinegar and spices
Serve with chips, baguette, crackers or vegetables
Notes
You can make this dip ahead of time and store in the fridge. Then take out a few minutes before serving so it comes to room temperature. Enjoy with chips, crackers or veggies.
I used to make this dip without the mayo and it tasted really good! I recently started to add a little bit for an extra creamy and rich taste. Both ways work!
