Wash and trim asparagus. You can trim without a knife by bending each asparagus spear until it snaps. That's how you can tell what part to discard
Heat a medium size skillet and add olive oil
Once hot, add asparagus and sprinkle with salt and pepper
Cook undisturbed for at least 4 minutes, then start to toss until all sides get a little charred. This usually takes 6-8 minutes. The key is not overcooking it so it remains crispy and not soggy
Remove from heat and top with freshly grated parmesan cheese
