Prep your ingredients: finely dice the red onion, tomato, cilantro, and garlic clove. If using jalapeño, finely dice it as well.
Cut each avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a medium mixing bowl.
Squeeze the lime juice directly over the avocado.
Add the diced red onion, tomato, cilantro, garlic, and sea salt to the bowl.
Using a fork, lightly mash and stir everything together until just combined. Keep it chunky — don’t over-mash!
Taste and adjust seasoning — add more lime juice for brightness or more salt as needed. Fold in diced jalapeño if desired.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or use as a topping for tacos, grilled proteins, or wraps.
