This is the kind of dish that turns a quiet night at home into something special—perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or anytime you want to cook with intention and love.

Juicy ribeye steak, creamy burrata, crispy toasted baguette, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze come together in the most irresistible way. It’s elegant without being complicated, impressive without being stressful, and made with just a handful of high-quality ingredients. Sometimes, the simplest dishes say the most—and this one says I adore you.

Why Burrata Steak Crostini Is Perfect for Valentine’s Day

There’s something undeniably romantic about sharing small bites. Crostini invites conversation, lingering at the table, and savoring every bite together. This dish feels restaurant-worthy but is easy enough to make at home, which makes it ideal for staying in and creating a meaningful experience for your partner.

Plus, steak and burrata? A power couple. The balsamic glaze is the perfect little topper and you’ve got yourself the BEST most delicious little bites. I promise you’ll be craving this non stop once you try this combination.

It’s also perfect for GALENTINE’S or any other gathering with the people you love. It’s elegant yet simple and the flavours are UNREAL.

How to Make It (Quick Overview)

Toast sliced baguette until golden. Sear the ribeye in butter with garlic and rosemary until cooked to your liking, then rest and slice thin. Assemble by layering burrata on crostini, topping with steak, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Finish with flaky salt and cracked pepper.

Burrata steak crostini is proof that you don’t need a complicated menu to create something unforgettable. With just a few thoughtfully chosen ingredients, you can make a dish that feels indulgent, romantic, and deeply satisfying. Whether it’s Valentine’s Day or just a cozy night in, this appetizer is a beautiful way to say “I love you” through food.

How To Make burrata steak crostini

The Ingredients

Ribeye Steak
Ribeye is rich, tender, and full of flavor, making it perfect for a dish where the steak really shines. Make sure to grab a fairly big one so you have lot’s of yummy slices for the crostini.
Substitute: Sirloin, strip steak, filet mignon, or even flank steak sliced thin.

Butter, Garlic & Fresh Rosemary
These infuse the steak with warmth and aromatics while basting it to perfection. You can omit this step but I find it adds lots of juicy flavour.
Substitute: Olive oil instead of butter, thyme instead of rosemary, or garlic powder in a pinch.

Stracciatella or Burrata
Stracciatella (the creamy center of burrata) melts beautifully over warm steak and crostini. I like to buy mine from Trader Joes as it comes in a container ready to be spread but you can use regular burrata and slice it open, use the insides to coat each crostini. If you’re not a burrata fan consider using another spreadable creamy cheese like ricotta, goat cheese or even whipped cottage cheese.
Substitute: Whole burrata, fresh mozzarella, whipped ricotta, or even goat cheese.

Baguette
Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—perfect for holding all the toppings.
Substitute: Sourdough slices, ciabatta, crostini crackers, or gluten-free baguette.

Arugula
Adds a fresh, peppery bite that balances the richness of the steak and cheese.
Substitute: Baby spinach, microgreens, or mixed greens.

Balsamic Glaze
A sweet, tangy finish that ties everything together.
Substitute: Reduced balsamic vinegar, fig jam, or honey drizzle.

Salt & Pepper
Simple seasoning that lets the ingredients shine.

Recipe Tips

  • I buy the Stracciatella cheese from Trader Joes but you can simply buy burrata from anywhere, cut it open and use the insides as the spread. You can also swap for another creamy cheese like ricotta or goat cheese.
  • Option to cook the steak on the grill.
  • If you prefer a more well cooked steak, cook it for a few minutes longer.
