Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Wraps

These Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Wraps are the ultimate comforting weeknight dinner. A delicious twist on the classic sandwich, but faster, lighter, and made entirely in the air fryer. The steak and veggies cook in just 10 minutes and come out perfectly tender and flavorful every time. Add melty cheese, tuck everything into a warm tortilla with a swipe of mayo and a drizzle of hot sauce, and you’ve got an easy dinner that tastes indulgent but comes together effortlessly.

Once everything is cooked, you top it with cheese and pop it back into the air fryer until perfectly melted. Then load it into a soft tortilla, add your favorite condiments, wrap it up, and dig in. It’s cozy, satisfying, and unbelievably easy.

I also can’t believe how perfect the steak turned out. No need to worry about over or under cooking it or having to stand outside by a grill or stove top. Just pop it in and let the air fryer do its thing! I am currently obsessed with my new Cosori Iconic Stainless Steel Air Fryer linked here. I love that it’s stainless steel & ceramic cooking. Not too loud and looks pretty dang good on your counter.

Why You’ll Love These Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Wraps

  • Ready in about 20 minutes
  • Steak and veggies cook together in the air fryer
  • Minimal prep and cleanup
  • Family friendly and customizable
  • Perfect balance of savory, melty, and slightly spicy

How to Make Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Wraps

  1. Thinly slice the ribeye against the grain.
  2. Slice the bell pepper and onion into thin strips.
  3. Toss steak and vegetables together with avocado oil spray and spices.
  4. Spread evenly in your air fryer basket.
  5. Cook at 400°F for about 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through.

The steak cooks quickly and stays tender while the peppers and onions soften and slightly caramelize.

Once cooked, top the mixture with slices or shredded cheese and return to the air fryer for 1–2 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Warm your tortillas slightly so they’re pliable. Spread a thin layer of mayo, add the cheesy steak mixture, drizzle with hot sauce, wrap tightly, and serve immediately.

Tips for the Best Results

  • Place steak in the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing. It makes it easier to slice thinly which helps with even cooking.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket — cook in batches if needed.
  • Let the steak rest for a minute before adding cheese to prevent overcooking.
  • Toast the assembled wrap in the air fryer for 2 minutes if you want a crispy exterior.

These Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Wraps are everything you love about the classic sandwich — savory steak, sweet peppers, melty cheese — but faster, easier, and perfectly portioned for busy weeknights. Comfort food made simple.

If you try them, let me know your favorite cheese combo!

The Ingredients

12 oz Ribeye Steak
Rich, tender, and flavorful thanks to its marbling. Slice thinly against the grain for the best texture.
Substitute: Sirloin (leaner), flank steak, shaved sandwich beef, or even thin-sliced chicken breast.

Green Bell Pepper
Adds sweetness and classic cheesesteak flavor.
Substitute: Red or yellow bell peppers for a sweeter flavor, or add mushrooms for extra depth.

Yellow Onion
Brings savory, caramelized flavor once air fried.
Substitute: White onion or sweet onion.

½ tsp Garlic Powder
Boosts savory flavor quickly without fresh garlic burning in the air fryer.
Substitute: Fresh minced garlic (add halfway through cooking).

½ tsp Chili Flakes
Adds gentle heat.
Substitute: Omit for mild, or use smoked paprika instead.

Avocado Oil Spray
Helps everything crisp slightly and prevents sticking.
Substitute: Olive oil spray.

Large Flour Tortilla Wraps
Soft, flexible, and perfect for holding the filling.
Substitute: Whole wheat, low-carb wraps, or even pita.

Provolone cheese
Classic melty cheesesteak choice.
Substitute: Mozzarella, white American, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack.

Mayo (optional)
Adds creaminess inside the wrap.
Substitute: Greek yogurt, garlic aioli, or skip entirely.

What You Need

  • 1 Air Fryer (I am loving the Cosori Iconic Stainless steel)

The Steps

  • Slice the bell pepper and onion into thin strips.
  • Thinly slice the ribeye against the grain
  • Spray the bottom of your air fryer with avocado oil (option to use a liner)
  • Add onion, peppers, steak and spices
  • Mix well and spread into an even layer
  • Air fry for 8-10 minutes at 400, shaking the basket halfway through
  • Top with cheese and back into the air fryer at 400 for 1 minute until the cheese melts
  • Assemble wraps with cheesy steak mixture (option to had mayo and hot sauce)
  • Wrap up tightly, cut in half and enjoy

Recipe Tips

  • If you want to really thinly slice your steak I recommend placing it into the freezer for 30 minutes. It gets nice and cold and therefore making it easier to thinly slice.
  • For easier clean up, use an air fryer liner.
  • You can toss the veggies, steak and spices in a bowl and then add to air fryer or do the tossing right inside the air fryer to dirty up one less dish.
  • This makes 3 large wraps. You can stretch this to 4 wraps but I recommend having a side dish to go with it.
  • To make your tortillas nice and bendable I suggest heating them up in the microwave for 30 seconds.
